2 Minute Noodles

Today, I did something I haven't done since I was 8 years old. I burnt a bowl by not putting water in my 2 minute noodles. Aren't I meant to be getting smarter?

just because your dreams are smaller than mine doesn't mean there not there.
Just because your bigger than me doesn't mean I'm not there

People My Age

It scares me, the things that people my age are doing. I mean the actor who plays Gavroche in the 2013 Les Mis movie was born the same year I was. Rupert Grint was 3 years younger than I am when he became Ronald Weasley (and yes, when I searched up how to spell his name I did get sucked into reading his Wikipedia page).   Lorelai Gilmore had Rory when she was 2 years older than I am.
And that there are kids younger than me doing TED talks. There are kids younger then me dying. Anne Frank was living through a war (along with a million other people), falling in love and writing in her diary, from the time she was 13, not knowing she would be dead 2 years later and that her diary would be a world-wide symbol of the travesty of war and the shattering of innocence.  A girl I know, a year older then me, died of cancer and a girl my sisters age was bullied so bad, she ended everything.

I've been in school for eight years and am about to start my 2nd semester of year 8.  I've worked in my parents shop since I was ten but I still struggle to do anything more intense then topping the papers or putting out books. I play netball but only at a domestic level. I read more then I socialize and I'm struggling to be okay with that, while still pushing myself to do better. I've been around computers my whole life and I know more then my Grandpa, but I still don't know how to touch type. I want to do debating at my school but I don't know if I care for the people who want to do it too, and I think that might make me perform badly and quit. I don't want to be a quitter but I don't want to keep doing it out of a sense of obligation (and duty), if I don't enjoy it.

I'm fourteen years old and  I haven't done anything yet. I'm fourteen years old and I haven't even started yet.

I've run out of steam, so rant over.

The BEST West Wing Scene

The best West Wing scene is in the last episode of the fourth season (the last season Sorkin was involved in) when Zoe Bartlett is kidnapped and President Bartlett signs over the presidency to President Walken under the 25th amendment. I think this is the most touching scene in the entire show.

Meaning of Life.

SERIOUSLY, what's the meaning of life?
anyone know? Cause I was wondering.

Easy Atom Model

*Warning - I received an A on this project but was marked down because the electrons were only a little bit smaller then the neutrons and protons.

Recently, I had to make an atom model for year 8 science and I struggled to come up with ideas for how to make it. I surfed the internet for ideas and I didn't really find anything particularly helpful so I'm going add my thoughts.

What I used:

  • Glow-sticks (it is really helpful if the glow-stick connectors have holes in them for the wire)
  • Small pins
  • Big pins
  • Blue tack
  • Wire
The amount of all materials needed depends on which atom you're making and how big you want your model to be.

*Warning x 2-  Be careful with the glow-sticks.
  1. Carefully, cut the ends of the glow-sticks and let the juice inside, come out.
  2. With as many glow-sticks as you'd like, form two separate circles (depending on how many orbits your atom has).
  3. Using the wire, tie the glow-sticks together so that the model appears like a sphere.
  4. Make a small ball with the blue tack and stick the big pins into it to represent the protons and neutrons, the pins should only be two different colours.
  5. Tie two pieces of wire to the blue tack ball and tie the other ends to opposite glow-stick connectors.
  6. For the electrons, stick the right amount of small pins into the orbits and cut off the sharp ends of the pins, using pliers.
  7. Also, if you'd like to, you can make a base for the model by sticking blue tack to the bottom of it.
I hope this is helpful.

Top Resolutions

These are my top five resolutions (in my head right now)
1. Join my school debating team. - have my first debate on Wednesday (Wish me "Good-luck!").
2. Read The Great Gatsby.
3. Learn to juggle.
4. Go to America.
5. Put myself out there (in a platonic friendship way)

Maybe, one day I'll throw a coin in for good-luck. And get a real pic of it

Nice To Meet You

Hello,
This is my first post, so, stay with me as I work out the kinks. This may not be that impressive a first quote but it's pretty cool to see my writing on the world wide web. Nice to meet you (I'm still coming up with how to sign out).
