Tourists

I recently went on a overseas holiday filled with photo-hungry tourists and I was wondering in how many photos I'm in (maybe there's a photo of me gathering dust in a draw, somewhere in Cairo?).

Untilted

If you write a story
I'll read the words
If you say the lines
I'll think of birds

Because your words bring thoughts of freedom
of a cloudless sky
of endless maps

They forget pretension
and convention
and remind me of unfinished thoughts
............

This thing (NOT a poem) came into my head after reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (which I stole off my sister's shelf, and added a different dust-cover to). I haven't finished it yet, will update (eventually) (have I used enough brackets?).

Overexposed

Do you think being overexposed to something makes it easier to not care. Like how a doctor might have a less emotional response to death, then say someone who bags groceries for a living. If that's true then swear words are going to be irrelevant by the time I'm 20.

Cool

What is this weird fascination that everyone has with being disinterested? as if disinterest is the key to convincing everyone (yourself included) that you just don't care.

Where am I?

As I type I'm sitting in an apartment in New York City.
New York City.
For someone who lives in a seaside town in Victoria, Australia, this is pretty huge.
Walking into New York City, I felt really anxious coming out of Penn Station, but it pretty much went away by the time we began walking in Central Park (bet it'll come back tomorrow).

2 Minute Noodles

Today, I did something I haven't done since I was 8 years old. I burnt a bowl by not putting water in my 2 minute noodles. Aren't I meant to be getting smarter?

just because your dreams are smaller than mine doesn't mean there not there.
Just because your bigger than me doesn't mean I'm not there
